Woohoo... A public holiday
I went to temple became volunteer
What I did at there?
普济寺one of the famous tourist spot of Sandakan
It is the biggest temple in Sandakan and located at the top of mountain
Each year of Wesak Day
There will have celebration there
All the people can went there 浴佛, eat the vegetable foods for free, and etc
Is very happening there...
One of the special that day is
They will give the gift to all the grandparents who over 60 years old
There are around 500 gifts will give out.
The gift is a recycle bag which contained milo powder, biscuit, oat and a tin of milk
What we need to do is
We need to register all the names and IC numbers of the grandparents
Then we will give them a number in order to change the gifts
So far the oldest we recorded is 92 years old... borned in 1919 year
Actually she is my 太太 , my grandmother's mother..LOL
She still healthy right now...=)
Another interesting thing is
A woman over 60 years old but she just looked like 4++
I wonder how she can keep maintain so good... Haha
Just look so young...
Be a volunteer for this activities
I can see how happy the time they receive the gift
Especially this year they start using recycle bag but not use plastic bag
They keep say this year the sponsor is nice to give the recycle bag and they can reuse it.
Ya... For me is an improvement that they reduce using 500 plastic bags..LOL
However, when the 500 number give out and finished,
there were some of them also wish to get the gift ,
They so disappointed when they didnt get it..=(
They came so far but cant get the gift
We all feel pai seh and keep apologized to them
We hoped that next year the sponsor can sponsor more
so that the number of gift can increase to bring more pleasure to the grandparents
